Just got my copy and it's great. My 7 year old (girl) couldn't wait to see what was on every page and is already picking activities to do. Truth is I'm learning some new things too. This book is a must for every 'maker kid' and parent who wants to be right there with them!

My son is always getting into one craft or another, but he has been disappointed that the crafts aren't "real". This book has a good mix of real-world toy-making advice as well as a few well thought out projects. I was surprised how easy the cookie cutters were to make and how well the pop-bottle monster worked.

This is a great book, really for all ages. Terrifically detailed with simple instructions on creating very unique DIY projects for yourself or with your kids. I found many of these games and toys have an updated nostalgia of toys or projects I had when I was a child and can now be shared with my children and their grandchildren. This book will provide hours, days and months of great activities and projects everyone can easily create, invent and enjoy! Mr. Knetzger has created a real winning formula with all of his toy-making experience and I am so pleased he has shared his ideas and projects with the world!

This definitely can be a fun book for adults, as well as children and grandchildren. I didn't think anyone on planet Earth still remembered the "FREE..actual working ATOM SUB" that came in boxes of Rice Krispies in 1955. But here it is, on pages 53-54. Instead of U-238, it was powered by small amounts of baking soda, and it was tiny. But it would sink in my bathwater, rise to the surface, magically turn sideways to burp its air bubble, and sink once more, only to rise again and burp again. Just the sort of experience a young boy would remember--and cherish--for decades! The author shows how to do the same trick with a "sub" made from a potato. And his book contains 39 other imaginative projects, ranging from games, toys and steampunk safety goggles to glowing tiki lamps and a Japanese yakitori grill. If you like working with tools and teaching youngsters how to use tools properly and safely, this book can guide you to you many interesting opportunities. Also, the author shows how to work with a variety of materials to do casting and molding, plus thermoforming of plastics. Definitely don't just hand this book to your kids. Roll up your sleeves, get out your tools, and gather your helpers--fun can be had by all while working and learning together. The author notes: "Many of these projects are spin-offs and examples from my work as a professional toy and game designer. Some projects are super simple; some are more involved. No expensive or highly technical tools are needed, just basic tools found in any garage or hobby bench. No specialized skills are required either." He does add an important caution: "These projects are not for unattended children." And there is another noteworthy statement that sums up this book's range of possibilities: "You might make some of these projects with a kid, for a kid...or just for yourself." This actually game in handy in fixing the broken shelf in my fridge [not covered in this book]).There are QR codes that can be scanned with a smartphone t see demos of completed projects in action. They even included a flipbook animation for one of the projects.Some of the projects are pretty involved. While Knetzger says they don't involve specialized equipment, not everyone has a soldering iron! Individuals who like the Maker Faire or who enjoy tinkering with electronics will likely appreciate this book. I first read this book back in elementary school in the late 1960's. It wasn't a required book to read, I just chose it because I guess at that age I was intrigued.Because this was during the day and age pre-video games, a great book was an important find during that time. The Cricket in Times Square was one of those books.I disappeared into it and loved being in the subway, visiting the newsstand and almost smelling the newspapers, and taking a trip to mysterious Chinatown. Even after allthese years I remember this book fondly and I was actually looking to see if it was in EBook form because I thought it would be great to read again. Unfortunately it isn't yet.This book is a great book for boy or girl to read and I hope they enjoy it today as I did back when I was a kid. This book and the Men of Iron by Howard Pyle were my two elementary school favorites.

I loved this book! I read it with my 10 year who usually hates reading. She didn't want to put it down. We loved the two dynamics, the human world and the friendship between the boy and the cricket, and the behind the scenes animal world with the unlikely friendship that formed between the cricket, mouse and cat. The love and self sacrifice that all the characters had toward one another was just beautiful!

I bought this for my niece after reading it myself--SUCH a sweet book! This book is obviously written for kids, but it has something for everyone in here...it's filled with art, music, love. It's just really cute for a child or for yourself if you want to revisit your innocence for an afternoon

I liked it because it was funny, sad and engrossing. I think it is a great book for many ages. Third and fourth graders can read it alone, but would recommend it read out loud by any adult. It will keep your attention. I like that there were only a few characters because I could keep everyone straight. I gave it five stars because it was well written and the development of the characters and story line was well paced and had good highs and lows.

I read this to my 7 year old, and he liked it enough we got Tucker's Countryside from the library. I am now in the middle of reading this to his class and another 2nd grade class, and the interest level has been quite good (once I got a couple chapters in, but it's like that with every book at that age).

I purchased the book for my grandson, who is 7. Both he, and my daughter loved the book. The service was excellent. I highly recommend both this book, and supplier.Regards,Larry P. Burton Ii

Even though it's an old story, my boys and I (ages 7 and 8) really enjoyed this story of a cricket who becomes an entertainer in the New York subway but eventually returns home to Connecticut to play to his forest friends.

My son had to read this for his 4th grade English class and it held his interest fairly well.

I picked up this series on a whim and I’m not disappointed. While the story seems to have similarities to Overlord, the main characters are different in their approaches.Diablo has always been a solo player but now finds himself part of a group of cute girls who all need his Over Powered abilities.The internal monologue is always amusing but he seems to be a great Role Player as he knows just what to say as a Demon Lord from Another World.The girls are okay but a little too dependent on the male protagonist.

Great addition to the series. I would say better than than the first two, the stakes actually start getting real, and there are some darker moments which I liked. As always, the fan service is over the top sometimes, but it's used sparingly, thankfully.

It just gets better and better as you read more volumes. I enjoyed this volume especially since it means the next one is gonna come out which is my favorite. There's more battles in this one than previous volumes which is super rad.

I have purchased all the books prior to this one and each get better. Read both 4 and 5 in one afternoon and now hoping that 6 comes out real soon for now I will just reread all 5 again.

The cover art Made me think there was going to be some gender bending magic at play, but was a pleasant surprise. You can't judge a book by its cover.☺

If you like anime, manga or light novels in general, this one is worth the read. Not as overtly ecchi as the anime version, but still with it's funpoints

Placed an pre-order thinking it was the light novel based on clicking the image and it leading to the light novel, ended up with a manga I didn't want or need because they later changed the listing.

Rose is awesome and Diablo was a badass, enough said.

This...this is the embodiment of a heroic tradegy! Volume 13 has brought the story to a whole new level and I don't know who is going to survive it. Every time I read a new volume it feels like if all in love with the series all over again!Thank you for the wonderful volume Fujino Omori, the story ended on a perfect note and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next volume! I thought the prophecy lines were beautifully written! Thank you Suzuhito Yasuda for the phenomenal art! You always spice up the scenes with your illustrations!

A common saying in this series is how the dungeon never gives up, even at the worst times, the dungeon will find a way to make it worse. I felt actual despair reading this one, kept me at the edge of my seat reading page after page hoping something would happen to alleviate this feeling of despair I felt. All I can say is I am lost for words how good this one was and a excited for volume 14

All i can say is that i cant wait for volume 14, really amazing read .

This kind of story is the one you can not stop to reading, I've got work to do since I'm in university but I just couldn't stop, when I realize, I've already ended the book in 2 days... hahahahaha I hope the next volume's release be quicker...

Got goosebumps from reading this story, the terror and despair of the situation unfolding is well crafted that it hooked me in and put me on the edge of my seat wondering what is to be the fate of our young rabbit foot and his companions, as they face a glimpse of the true terror of the dungeon.

Great read. I picked it up and before I knew it, I was done, then felt horribly depressed at the huge cliffhanger. Probably the best volume I've read so far. I'm feeling impatient having to wait so long for the next volume.

Great volume and looking forward for the next Volume (August 20, 2019) try to avoid spoilers too, because next volume its even better

Wow just amazing, one of my favorite books in the series so far, but now I have to wait until August for 14, damn.
