I am not surprised by (and heartily agree with) the high praise this book receives from readers here. My one-star rating is solely in response to the publisher's dishonesty. Nowhere in this item's description are potential purchasers warned that this volume is also published (page for page, picture for picture) as Harley-Davidson: The Good, The Bad and The Legendary (also available here at Amazon). That is a sneaky, underhanded way to con people into buying a book they already own.However, please note that the book itself, under either title, is definitely worth owning. It is chock full of nice, seldom-seen vintage photographs, and artwork by artists like James Guçwa, Kent Bash and Dave Barnhouse. There are essays by Allan Girdler (who wrote The Harley-Davidson and Indian Wars and two authoritative Harley-Davidson buyer's guides), Melissa Holbrook Pierson (author of The Perfect Vehicle and The Man Who Would Stop at Nothing), Peter Egan (Cycle World columnist who wrote Leanings 1 & 2), Harry V. Sucher (who authored what many consider the definitive history of Harley-Davidson, a history of Indian motorcycles, and yet another, of the American Motorcyclist Association), Timothy Remus (How to Build the Ultimate V-Twin series, and several coffee-table books on custom motorcycles), bike builder Arlen Ness, daredevil Evel Knievel, Harley archivist and poet laureate Dr. Martin Jack Rosenblum, and a handful of others.Again, I will not reward this dishonest publisher with a high rating, but any Harley-lovin' motorcycling enthusiast would enjoy the book described above. Just figure out which title you want on it - Harley-Davidson: The Good, The Bad and The Legendary or the one offered here - and order away!****** PLEASE NOTE ****** I wrote the above review on 22 July 2014. Less than a week later I happened to leaf through another book - one that has been in my personal library for over a year - and was amazed to realize that it is exactly the same as the two books described above. That makes THREE titles (so far) for the exact same word-for-word, page-by-page, picture-for-picture book - "This Old Harley", "Harley Davidson: The Good, The Bad and The Legendary" and now "The Harley-Davidson Chronicles: Tribute to a Legend". All three are edited by Michael Dregni and published by Voyageur Press and, despite the fact that they are identical items, Voyageur Press even has the gall to use different copyright dates: 2000 for "This Old Harley", 2005 for "Harley Davidson: The Good, The Bad and The Legendary" and 2008 for "The Harley-Davidson Chronicles: Tribute to a Legend". By so doing they make it even more likely that unsuspecting buyers will fall for their scheme!
