This book provides vocabulary, verbs, stories and questions which are useful with my students. Some of these older books provide the best organization of materials needed for the classroom.

It's the book were using in class, it is excellent. The book is new and it is hardback, which I like. The book covers the basics very well and has good practice exercises.

This is a solid book for teaching and learning intermediate level Spanish. I wish it had more conversation practice in it, but it does a very good job with grammar and usage.

The book is sort of practical and easy to study.

Book 2 hasn't been refreshed in a while so it's look and art are very different from Book 1, The other major annoyance is that book 1 came with a pdf of the book for my ipad. Book 2 lacks this.

This is pretty good for a beginning level, learn to speak spanish book. It's what I needed for class. Shipment was good, too.

I got this Spanish textbook at a very reasonable price on Amazon, in new condition. I got the book itself because my spanish class required it. Not so crazy abouth the book because it doesn't give answers to the exercises.

Hours of Devotion: Fanny Neuday's Book of Prayers for Jewish Women, edited by Dinah Berland, was recommended to me by a good friend. When it arrived from Amazon, I discovered it to be a remarkable collaboration of two gifted and spiritual women living more than a century and a half and an ocean apart. In Dinah Berland's heartfelt "Editor's Preface," she tells the story of her happening on a 1937 copy of Fanny Neuda's prayer book (without the author's name) in a used book store near her home. The powerful impact these prayers had on Dinah Berland's personal life led her to rediscover the power of prayer, restore a broken relationship with her beloved son and revive her faith. It also started her on a journey to find the author and the story behind the prayers and eventually to edit and publish this 2007 edition.Berland's skills and talents as a both a published poet and a professional editor were put to good use in creating this edition of Fanny's prayers for a new generation of women. Careful attention was given by Berland to ensure accurate translations of the prayers from the original German to English and prayers omitted in previous editions were reintroduced. The language was given a 21st century makeover to reflect common usage and gender inclusion, and a major enhancement was made to this edition by Berland setting the formerly prose constructed prayers into verse. They are so beautiful in verse!The prayers drew me in with their loving images in the prayers of God ( e.g. All Compassionate One, Creator and Sustainer, Parent of All) and the language of appreciation for the beauty of the natural world they contain. Neuda saw the loving hand of God in every moment and every possible circumstance of a woman's life, and these prayers encompasses every aspect of daily life, holidays and special situations unique to a women's lives. The calming and reassuring language of the prayers give a sense of hope and peace that is hard to find in our troubled and turbulent times. This is a beautifully written book. With tons of personal insight as well as prayers for almost every occation. At first I was skeptical about a book with so many Very Good Reviews, but after reading just a few of these delightful prayers I am in complete agreement with the reviews I read. With historical content and the prayers themselves I have not been able to put the book down.The Author did a beautiful job in compiling information.This is a book that can be read by all faiths and by men as well as women. It seems true that "there are no accidents". Dinah Berland discovered an old copy of this book in a low moment of her life, and rescued it from oblivion, just as it rescued her from crisis. The prayers, while written in the 19th century, are simple, eloquent and heartfelt, and ring true. Ms. Berland has provided a fascinating context for the prayers, with biographical information about Fanny Neuda and autobiographical reflections about her own spiritual journey. Best of all, she has revived a treasure that was once beloved by generations of women, and was almost lost to us.

What a treasure! It covers every topic imaginable and I was blessed to have it in time to read at a loved one's bed of transition. Unbelievable that these verses were written so long ago but so apply to today and she writes beautifully for women. Thank you to my awesome cousin who told me about it! I have been recommending it like crazy.

This prayer book is one that really touches the heart, and helps give words to us when we need them the most. I like the set up of this book as it has seperate prayers for different days, life events, morning, and evening. So often when we pray, when we really need to we may be at a loss for words, this book helps to provide the words that are needed. I highly recommend this book if you are going through a difficult time, or even if you desire a book to assist you in your prayers.

I am a 57 year-old Secular Jew. If it ever comes to pass that I perform a mitzvah you should consider it a coincidence. I don't even believe in God in any conventional sense. But in Dinah Berland's masterful hands the prayers of Fanny Neuda make life itself, its passages, sufferings, joys, and hopes, God for me.If the siddurim used in synagogues were as intimate and as full of grace as HOURS OF DEVOTION, I'd buy a seat in shul with every penny I had.

Lee Strobel's "A Case for Christ" was highly instrumental in leading me to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord & Savior. Coming from a scientific background, I was also skeptical about this whole "religion thing". However, the methodical scientific approach and evidence he discovered in his search for the truth, convinced me it is far more logical to place my faith in Jesus than not. I can do nothing but highly recommend this book and the movie if you are searching for the truth about Jesus Christ.

Lee was an Atheist, and his wife, an Agnostic.What makes this book so interesting, even as a believer, is the fact that Lee, former legal editor for the Chicago Tribune, embarked on a 2 year investigation into the reality of Christ. Was Jesus who He said He was? Did He really exist in the flesh? Are the biblical accounts just made up? Were there eye witness testimonies to miracles that supposedly happened through Jesus? Can groups of people maintain eye witness accounts without those stories becoming totally altered after passing down through even the first 20 people let alone generations?The really great thing about Lee's "investigation" was that he set out to prove that his wife, who became a believer, and all the rest of us, were caught up in a huge scam. Experts in the fields where Lee's questions could be addressed were engaged in this quest. This book is not fiction!Also, the movie, if you see it, does a great job of summarizing the whole investigation, and you get to "meet" those who were called on to fully answer Lee's questions, and they are not actors.

It's hard to rate this book with only 5 stars. I was raised a Mormon. After leaving the cult due to the Mormon inconsistencies and contradictions I found myself in a state of limbo. I didn't know what to believe. I knew that a God existed but wasn't sure if it was the Christian God, the many many Hindu gods or maybe some deity that was unknown and impersonal.The Case for Christ was a critical look at Christianity from the perspective of an atheist. Lee Strobel left no stone unturned. He tackled the historicity of the person Jesus, the resurrection account, miricals and every objection to which I wanted answers.

Well written and logical. A must for anyone investigating the validity of the claims of the Gospel.

I am a christian. My parents were born again long before I was born. My father was immensely and I mean it, immensely transformed after receiving christ. We prayed three times a day, and I was a firm beleiver in Christ simply by reading the bible and listening to men of God. Mama always spoke vividly about the Kingdom yet to come. It is the happiest time of my parents lives, speaking about Christ. I therefore knew christ without reviewing the evidence. Reviewing the evidence in this book has given me a new drive and commitment to the cause and now I am altogether stronger and better grounded. I wish I had read this book years ago! I would definately have had better use of my time witnessing for christ.

Author Lee Strobel makes the statement quoted above at the end of this book. To him, the witness of the Spirit to us through an encounter with Christ is the ultimate confirmation of the truths proposed and taught by Christianity.Before this, he spends 14 chapters in the book looking at common objections some people present for why they do not believe that Jesus is truly God as Christians believe. Strobel--who was once himself a nonbeliever/atheist--refutes the objections and is convinced that the objections are baseless. His arguments convinced me, too, but not all of the chapters were as important to me as the others. We all come to acceptance or rejection of Jesus as God from different places, and unless we are set in our thinking against the truth of Christian revelation, it seems to me that at least some of Strobel's reasons should prove to be persuasive. I have known people, however, who are so set in their opposition to accepting the divinity of Christ that I doubt this book (or any others) will make a difference. (I had a friend in college who was so wounded by life while a child that he turned against God in anger and identified as an atheist. He refused to consider any arguments for Christ and the Church and had build up a wealth of reasons why he was correct.)This book should also be helpful to those who already believe in Christ because it presents many arguments and reservations by those opposed to belief in Christ. Knowing the arguments and sensible reasons against them can help Christians understand those opposing Christ and gives believers understanding of how to counter those arguments.I agree with Strobel about the importance of the Spirit revealing the truth to us. While I was somewhat catechized and taught about Christian truths as a child (as much as a post-Vatican II child could be!) and didn't have great objections to belief, my faith was not deep and wasn't really important to me. Confirmation of my belief came to me as I encountered Christ though Scripture, prayer, the Church and sacraments (especially the Eucharist), and the community of believers. My now long pilgrimage in seeking to know Christ and understand him has led to deeper faith and a more joyful experience of it. Over time, indifference and questions I once had melted away. At times the "melting" was quite rapid; at other times, quite slow. But I persevered and my pilgrimage continues and enriches my life more as time passes. And I think that through me, my faith is also enriching the lives of others too. As Sister Pat says, "Thank you, Jesus."

Deadlands Reloaded Players Guide makes player character creation alot easier and indeed a great buy for someone who is just going to go the PC route. It cantains all the necessary info to outfit Hucksters, Martial Artists, Harrowed, Blessed, Mad Scientist, and other Arcana Magics. It basically has about oh 50 powers and tells if they are available to a specific background and what way it manifests itself. Some other rules that come along like how hangings, gun duels, and gamblin' are handled. It has more guns and gear listed and recounts almost all the information from the original Reloaded book. Almost all the art is recycled art from original deadlands books and those that aren't would have been better excluded (in my oppinion). That being said the price is right $25 and it is a great tool to have in Deadlands Reloaded, everyone should have it. When another book hits the shelfs I would like to see more art and more perspective from the characters in it to flavor out the book. I would also like for them to cover more of the varmits and to touch upon more regions and characters from those regions.

Savage Worlds is a pretty great system, and they business model Pinnacle uses is even better.For twenty bucks you get the core rules, and they can be adapted to run pretty much anything. Plus, there's so much user created content out there that if you want to run something, there's rules someone has made for it.What really makes Savage Worlds shine is all the settings for it. Deadlands is one such setting. Magic, technology, weirdness, and cowboys. It's great, really. If you're into Weird West stuff like Jonah Hex, you'll like Deadlands.What I REALLY want to talk about, though, is the Explorer's Edition format. The concept is just wonderful. While I love my huge, hardcover RPG books, the convenience of the Explorer's Edition stuff is wonderful. They're cheap, they're small, and they have everything I need to run the game. I'm actually at the point where I don't want to buy Savage Worlds stuff if it doesn't come in an Explorer's Edition size. It's really just a great model.Anyway, this book is great. Gorgeous full-color, wonderful art, and wisely has just enough information to let the players play what they want, but keep most of the fun, super-natural secret.

Just buy the PDF, I returned one that the pages started to fall out of and week later the replacement started to fall apart.Savage Worlds and Deadlands are fantastic systems and settings, but the publisher need to make better books.

Great material, but the first dozen or two pages fell out in a chunk after one week of gentle use. Appreciate the idea of the inexpensive, portable Explorer's Edition, but if it means the thing straight up falls apart it loses some of it's appeal. Get hardback if you can find it.

This is a wild west rpg with heavy elements of horror and steampunk thrown in. I find the concept, mechanics and backstory unique and interesting. The only reason I gave this product four stars instead of five is because I have only had the players handbook for 2 weeks and the pages are already falling out of it.

I was recently snared by Savage Worlds (Deluxe), so I began buying up a number of the game settings. I grew up watching many of the classic Westerns, so Deadlands Reloaded was one of Pinnacle's settings near the top of my list. This book contains everything the players need to know to get started. The book is well laid out, the table of contents and index are sufficient, there's some nice art, and the binding on my copy is currently holding up. I know other reviewers have mentioned it falling apart and mine may after heavier use, but I've had it for a month or two now and it's survived a read through and frequent referencing.I confess it took me a while to buy this and the Marshal's Handbook because I did not know that I needed these books instead of the single Deadlands book that is now out of print. So, here's the heads-up if you're in the same pickle I was.If you're looking for some campaigns to throw at your posse, check out the Flood or Last Sons.

The text covers thoroughly the known history of this demon infested western dystopia, character roles, an expanded view of character creation, rules specific to the setting, and magic rules.ConsBinding did not make it through a day. The book construction is dreadful.Final thoughtThe binding is a nuisance, but the content of the book is among the best in the genre. I'd highly recommend purchasing the content of this book. Your RPG table will thank you.

Love the new version of the game but the rule book needs a bit of editing. Some rules are not very clear or are in the wrong areas. Also it started to fall apart within a week of use. Get the book coil bound at a kinkos as soon as possible.
