This anthology of commentary on the Psalms brings a potpourri of insights, a kind of condensed wisdom, to one's mind and soul. It is a pleasure to listen to the sages in this work.The Hebrew and English languages with their contrary reading directions always make a problem. The pages move from right to left as in Hebrew, but the two columns on each page move from left to right; this gives the effect of leap-frogging--2 columns backward, if you will, and 4 columns forward.Then there is the occasional typographical error. Still I love this set. It's the content, after all; and I appreciate the difficulties the editors must have faced in laying out the text.

Excellent set. If you want a different view of the scriptures and a deeper understanding, I would not hesitate to purchase this set. You will learn much, but make sure you are open to learning. If you are not, then this is not for you. It is a wealth of knowledge at your finger tips, but be prepared to be engaged and challenged.

A very in depth commentary on Tehillim but not overwhelmingly so. I use it mostly to look up any Tehilah which the Gemara I am studying makes reference to. This way, I can actually learn what the Gemara is referring to and why they quote a particular Tehilah.

This is advertised as a 2 vol. set but only received the 1st vol. This is of no real use to me if the set is not complete. Description needs to reflect what buyer is actually paying for. Very misleading and left me disappointed.

"The Hermit" of this collection has an eerie resemblance to the stages of my own life, as I changed from one personality to the next, under the pressure of outside circumstances, as if my old self has died and a new one appeared from the ashes, finally to realize how things really work in the final scene.This contention is no more fantastic than any other idea of new understanding or a new invention -before they were actualized, they looked stupid and improbable to everybody, except the one who believed that they are possible. Would anybody treat the possibilty of the Internet as plausible just a few decades ago?Can it be that all knowledge exists around us and we just need to remove filters which present the veil, prevent us from seeing?Don't be decived by the symbols in these tales, try to think about the characters as various personalities of your own mind, as in the "Multimind" by Dr. Robert Ornstein. The personages, the plots are simply used as a basket which saved the baby Moses from drowning.
