About the Author
Andres Amador is a San Francisco-based Earthscape artist. His work can span well over 100,000 square feet (about 35,000 square meters) and is done at low tide (generally in under two hours) using only a rake and other simple tools. The ephemeral artworks do not last long, and they even begin to wash away before he has completed them. Amador and his creations have been featured by the BBC, CNN, the Discovery Channel and on numerous television programs and in periodicals. Although his primary canvas is the Northern California coastline, his artwork has appeared on beaches around the world.

This was a gift for someone who loves the beach. Love this calendar and would recommend it to someone who can look at this and image being on the beach.
Lovely photos of cool designs on the beach. Very relaxing to stare at when planning things. He makes these designs with rakes and sticks and they make you want to try one too.
I got the 2016 Land Art calendar and loved it, looking forward to seeing a new beautiful image every month for 2017.

The photographs include the beach murals and their place in the immediate environment. These beautiful murals are done in sand. Although I like some murals better than others, all of the featured photos are of high quality. There are no duds. The calendar is 12 inches square. The calendar grids are printed on a white background with plenty of space to write in each day. The title of the beach mural, its location, and a description by the artist accompanies each month. The calendar includes US and Canadian legal holidays, phases of the moon, and “important observances of the world’s major religions.†Holidays for other Anglophone nations are not included, though Wiccan holidays are, perhaps reflecting the New Age spirit of Amber Lotus Publishing.Amber Lotus offers an unusual variety of calendars, and I look there each year when shopping for a wall calendar. I’ve been surprised by the number of calendars I’ve bought from this publisher, as their catalog is not very big and tends to feature Eastern and pagan spiritual themes, with a smattering of nature calendars. But Amber Lotus seems to take a lot of care in choosing the artwork and has a talent for finding extraordinary artists whom I would never have heard of otherwise. Andres Amador’s work is really stunning. The calendars are printed on high quality paper, slick but not so slick that you can’t write on it. The paper is Certified Mixed Source, which includes recycled content and wood pulp from well-managed forests. Amber Lotus is very into trees, having funded the planting of 560,000 trees through the Trees for the Future organization. The “Land Art†calendar is a winner.
