If anyone is qualified to write such an excellent book about tiny houses, one aimed at idiots like me... it's Andrew and Gabriella Morrison! True movers and shakers in the growing Tiny House Movement, Andrew and Gabriella were instrumental in leading a team of like-motivated activists to do something remarkable in 2016: Putting together a super well-thought out case in support of adding a Tiny House appendix to the 2018 International Residential (Building) Code. There was nothing to support tiny houses in previous versions of the IRC, and when this brave (and tiny!) team made their case to the top committee of the IRC, they accomplished something truly heroic and historic: They WON they're case! And now, as a result of this group's hard work, starting with the 2018 edition of the International Residential Code, there will be a building code Appendix dedicated to Tiny Houses! This might not seem like such a big deal to a lot of people, but in terms of what it means for the acceptance and success of the Tiny House Movement around the world, it's absolutely HUGE!! Andrew and Gabriella, THANK YOU for helping to bring to America and the world some things it really needs; a possible solution to the shortage of affordable housing and a very earth-friendly way for people to enjoy living a life without a pile of mortgage debt in a huge house filled with STUFF! You are helping to make the world a better and happier place! Oh... and this Idiot's Guide you just wrote about Tiny Houses? I finished reading it today, cover to cover. This is the 3rd book about tiny homes and BY FAR this is the best one!! The others just really tell stories and have pictures... this book is actually filled with information and its easy to understand. Every single thing you need to know about living or building a tiny home is in this book. And its actually really interesting and fun to read (and i don't like reading lol) So, if you are wanting to build tiny or thinking about it... BUY THIS BOOK over any other. The other 2 are nice but this one is by far the best as far as information, being able to understand and getting you ready. I mean, things you wouldn't even think of that you need to know are in this book about building and living tiny. i will stop now because i could go on and on haha, and by the way, I just got this book in the mail today and i already can't say enough good things about it. Its just amazing!!

I love this book! Lots of great information without being too overwhelming!!

This is a great read to help those interested in discovering and considering basic needs when it comes to living small. Because of its simplicity, the reader is directed throughout the book to outside sources in order to learn more about particular topics. This book acts as a great reference and checklist for those beginning to design their own home.

Lots of ideas and background info on Tiny House design. I found it an interesting read.

Great book. Very informative. Covers all the stuff you didn't know to ask. Few pics, but packed with insight and solutions. Well organized. Highly recommended.

But only sketchy information, often the barest minimum. Not picture heavy. Useful information in some sections. Others not at all.

Bought this as a gift and they loved this book. The topic is of interest to who I gave this to and they seemed to enjoy very much.
