About the Author

Adam J. Prus is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Northern Michigan University. He received Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in Psychology from Western Michigan University and received a Ph.D. in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. After earning his Ph.D., Dr. Prus was a postdoctoral fellow in the Psychopharmacology Division of the Department of Psychiatry at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. During his graduate school training, he worked as a research technician at a pharmaceutical company, and since then, has served in various consulting roles for the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Prus has published numerous original studies on psychoactive drugs and has conducted research projects awarded by the National Institute of Mental Health, private foundations, and pharmaceutical companies.

I almost never write reviews. However, this book is fantastically written and is one of the few textbooks I've actually gone back and bought a new copy after having completed the course with a used one. It is easily one of the best texts on drugs psycho-physiological reactions/mechanics available.

Great text, happy I bought a hard copy instead of the e-book, now I have it for life.

I don't love the book in the sense that I love to read it, but the book is small, light, and compact, and it got here as scheduled. No wear and tear on it. Pretty much looks new.

Very informative.

This book is great in every aspect. It provides great pictures and diagrams for those that learn more through them or just want to know how the particular concept one is reading about looks like. For being it's first edition I feel it does a pretty great job at explaining and providing graphs and studies of experiments done. Its a complete book!
