This is a book I bought for my daughter, and she actually found it engaging and interesting enough she wanted to read it...actually honest to goodness wanted to read it. (I initially bought it as supplemental reading for the brief period of time we were home schooling her, so I can quite truthfully say she didn't always want to read the things I picked out). She even read this when we weren't doing homeschool stuff...I found her in her room with her flashlight under her blanket reading this, and she's still spouting off random facts from it. That makes it pretty awesome as far as I'm concerned, because usually, she finds history "soooo boring...."

I keep a box of books in the car and my granddaughter always reads when we are in the car. This book is great for short rides as she can get a lot of "complete" info in short bursts. She regularly "informs" me of things she's learned.I do wish that the page on Andrew Jackson reflected included that he adopted two Indian children. To state that he was not a friend of the Indians without mentioning the adoptions puts today's social and moral agendas "front and center" without any understanding of history.

I purchased this to go on our self for the kids to read. They pull it out all of the time and enjoy it together. They're having great fun while learning! I would also highly recommend Presidential Pets too especially if you have animal lovers at home!

This book is a lot of fun. I bought it for my 9 year old who was less than enthused when I showed her what I bought. But once she started reading it, I had to make her put it down to go to bed. The last 3 nights she's picked this one first and is rattling off interesting facts about presidents she hadn't even studied up to this point. There are plenty of books with facts on the presidents, but this one is a lighter book with interesting personal and sometimes silly facts about the presidents. It's a great coffee table book for adults also since it's easy to pick it up and read any page.

My son loves this book!! His 3rd grade teacher had it in the classroom library and my son talked about this book for weeks so I bought him a copy at home. He has really showed a passion about Presidents thanks to this book.

My 3rd grader was learning about presidents in school, so I got her this to supplement her school work with casual reading. She enjoyed it and will still go back and read bits a pieces over again at her leisure. Holds up nice, too. I'm sure it will make through my other two kids as they get older.

Full of fun facts and humorous illustrations, this is an excellent introduction to the Presidents as well as a useful review tool for those of us who, ahem, already learned this stuff. I used it to get ready for a Jeopardy! appearance, and it served me well. I also recommend it as a helpful supplement to younger students as a painless way to fix each President firmly into place!
